Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 10 ounces penne pasta
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
  • for garnish Fresh basil

Instructions
 

  • Cook penne pasta until al dente, then drain.
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook in olive oil until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter, sauté garlic, stir in flour, then whisk in broth and cream. Add parmesan and sun-dried tomatoes, season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Return chicken and pasta to skillet, toss to coat, garnish with basil before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the sauce simmer a few extra minutes before combining with pasta.
