Crispy Chilli Beef
A flavorful and crispy beef dish coated in a sticky, spicy sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

- 500 g beef steak sirloin or flank, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 egg white egg white
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 red bell pepper red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes adjust to taste
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch slurry mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 1 spring onion sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Fresh red chili sliced optional
Instructions
- Slice beef into thin strips, toss with cornstarch, egg white, salt, and pepper; let sit 10 minutes.
- Heat oil and fry beef in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes; drain on paper towels. For extra crispiness, fry twice.
- In a separate pan, heat sesame oil, sauté garlic and ginger, add peppers, then stir in sauces, honey, sugar, chili flakes, and vinegar; simmer and thicken with slurry.
- Add crispy beef to sauce, toss gently to coat, then garnish with sesame seeds, spring onions, and chili. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to achieve maximum crispiness.
