  • 500 g beef steak sirloin or flank, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 egg white egg white
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch slurry mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1 spring onion sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Fresh red chili sliced optional

Instructions
 

  • Slice beef into thin strips, toss with cornstarch, egg white, salt, and pepper; let sit 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil and fry beef in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes; drain on paper towels. For extra crispiness, fry twice.
  • In a separate pan, heat sesame oil, sauté garlic and ginger, add peppers, then stir in sauces, honey, sugar, chili flakes, and vinegar; simmer and thicken with slurry.
  • Add crispy beef to sauce, toss gently to coat, then garnish with sesame seeds, spring onions, and chili. Serve immediately.
