Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix flour, butter, and 1/4 cup sugar; press into an 8×8 inch pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
Heat milk until simmering. Whisk together sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add hot milk, then cook until thickened.
Pour custard over crust and bake for 25 minutes. Cool completely and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
