Ingredients
  

Salmon

  • 12 ounces salmon fillets about 6 ounces each
  • 1 cup jasmine rice or medium-grain sushi rice
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4-5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • optional sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, avocado, nori seaweed sheets for toppings

Instructions
 

  • Rinse rice until water runs clear; cook with 1.5 cups water per cup rice, then let rest and fluff.
  • Pat salmon dry, season with salt and pepper.
  • Melt butter, add garlic, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice; whisk to combine.
  • Heat oil in skillet, sear salmon skin-side down 4-5 mins, flip, baste with garlic butter, cook 3-5 mins.
  • Divide rice into bowls, top with salmon, drizzle with remaining garlic butter, add optional toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lemon or your favorite toppings.
