Instructions
Rinse blackberries and blend until smooth.
Strain the puree through a sieve, pressing to extract liquid and discard seeds.
Heat water and sugar until dissolved; cool the syrup.
Mix blackberry puree, cooled syrup, lemon juice, and optional alcohol.
Churn in an ice cream maker or freeze, stirring every 30 minutes until firm.
Notes
For a smoother texture, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
