Ultimate Blackberry Sorbet

Ingredients
  

Blackberries

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vodka or berry liqueur (optional) optional

Instructions
 

  • Rinse blackberries and blend until smooth.
  • Strain the puree through a sieve, pressing to extract liquid and discard seeds.
  • Heat water and sugar until dissolved; cool the syrup.
  • Mix blackberry puree, cooled syrup, lemon juice, and optional alcohol.
  • Churn in an ice cream maker or freeze, stirring every 30 minutes until firm.

Notes

For a smoother texture, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
