Ingredients
  

Meat

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

Aromatics

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Sauce & Sweeteners

  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider or rice vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons peeled and minced fresh ginger see note
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Vegetables

  • 1 bell pepper any color, chopped into small pieces
  • 2 cups broccoli florets chopped into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup shredded carrots

Garnish

  • sesame seeds and green onions to garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook ground beef and garlic in a skillet for 5-6 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Mix soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, cornstarch, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  • Add vegetables to the skillet, cook 2 minutes, then pour in the sauce. Cook until thickened and vegetables are tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper, serve over rice or noodles, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh ginger and high-quality soy sauce.
