Ingredients
  

Meat

  • 500 g thinly sliced beef or pork

Tortillas

  • 10 small corn tortillas or flour, if preferred

Produce

  • 1 cup diced white onion
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Salsa Verde

  • 5 tomatillos, husked
  • 2 serrano chilies
  • 1 small white onion, quartered
  • 1 garlic clove

Miscellaneous

  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Begin with the marinade. Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl. Coat each meat slice with the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  • For the salsa verde, blend tomatillos, serrano chilies, onion, garlic, and salt until smooth. Adjust seasoning.
  • After marinating, heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the meat slices for 2-3 minutes per side or until done.
  • Chop the meat and warm the tortillas on the griddle.
  • Assemble tacos with meat, onions, and cilantro. Serve with salsa verde and lime wedges.

Notes

Adjust the level of spiciness in the salsa verde according to your preference by using more or fewer serrano chilies.
