Ingredients

  • 1 pound White button mushrooms cleaned and sliced thick
  • 4 tablespoons Butter unsalted if possible
  • 3 cloves Garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano dried or fresh
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tarragon dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chili powder optional, for a mild heat
  • Fresh parsley or chives For garnish
  • Salt To taste

Instructions

  • Clean and slice mushrooms thickly. Heat a skillet over medium-high, add 2 tablespoons butter, and cook mushrooms until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Lower heat to medium, add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oregano, tarragon, paprika, black pepper, and optional chili powder. Toss to coat mushrooms evenly.
  • Simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing mushrooms to absorb flavors. Season with salt to taste.
  • Transfer to serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley or chives, and serve immediately.

Notes

For the best texture, use thick slices of mushrooms and avoid overcrowding the pan. Fresh herbs add a bright, fresh flavor to the dish.
