Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, melted and cooled (282g)
  • 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar (300g)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature (168g)
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste (12g)
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (400g)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (3g)
  • 1 tsp baking soda (6g)
  • 1 tsp fine salt (6g)
  • 2 cups milk or dark chocolate chips (350g)

Garnish

  • flaky sea salt - garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Stir in flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and spread dough evenly on the prepared sheet pan. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then cool and cut into squares.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool.
