Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups plain white flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chilled butter
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Cherry Filling

  • 2 1/4 cups cherries, pitted and fresh
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in butter until crumbly, then stir in egg and milk.
  • Press half of the mixture into the baking dish.
  • Combine cherries, sugar, and cornflour, then spread over the crust.
  • Top with remaining crumble mixture and bake for 30 minutes.

Notes

Let cool before cutting into bars for easier serving.
