One pot creamy tomato beef pasta

A quick and hearty one-pot meal combining tender beef, pasta, and a creamy tomato sauce for a satisfying dinner.

Ingredients
  

Oil and aromatics

  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped

Meat and seasonings

  • 500 g beef mince / ground beef
  • 2 tsp Italian herbs (Note 1)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Canned tomatoes and broth

  • 400 g crushed tomatoes or tomato passata
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 cups chicken stock/broth (Note 2)

Pasta and cream

  • 350 g fusilli or other short pasta
  • 0.75 cups heavy cream

Cheese and herbs

  • to taste Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • to taste Parsley, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil and sauté garlic and onion for 1.5 minutes.
  • Add beef and cook until no longer red, then stir in herbs and tomato paste, cooking for 1 minute.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes, broth, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; add pasta and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in cream and cook for 1-2 minutes until saucy and pasta is tender.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with Parmesan and parsley, then serve.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor. Adjust seasoning to taste.
