One pot creamy tomato beef pasta

A quick and hearty one-pot meal combining tender beef, pasta, and a creamy tomato sauce for a satisfying dinner.

Ingredients
  

Oil

  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped

Meat

  • 500 g beef mince / ground beef

Herbs and spices

  • 2 tsp Italian herbs (Note 1)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Canned goods

  • 400 g crushed tomatoes or tomato passata
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper

  • 1.5 tsp cooking salt / kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Broth

  • 4 cups chicken stock / broth, low sodium (Note 2)

Pasta

  • 350 g fusilli, penne, elbow macaroni or other short pasta (Note 3)
  • 0.75 cups heavy cream

Cheese

  • to taste Parmesan cheese, finely grated

Garnish

  • to taste Parsley, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a large pot, sauté garlic and onion for 1.5 minutes.
  • Add beef, cook until no longer red, then stir in herbs, tomato paste, and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, broth, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and pasta. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in cream and cook for 1-2 minutes until saucy and creamy.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with Parmesan and parsley, then serve.

Notes

Ensure pasta is cooked al dente to prevent over-softening.
