Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups milk (whole preferred, or use any you have)
  • 1 cup water (or as needed to just cover the pasta)
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese or sour cream (optional for extra creaminess)
  • garnish: chopped parsley or basil (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large pot, melt butter or heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add water and milk to the pot, then bring to a boil. Stir in pasta, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until pasta is al dente, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and optional cream cheese or sour cream until creamy and well combined.
  • Adjust seasoning as needed, garnish with chopped parsley or basil if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use full-fat milk and cheese. You can also add cooked chicken or vegetables for extra nutrition.
