Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients

  • 1.5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fruit preserves

  • 0.75 cup fruit preserves or jam (raspberry, strawberry, or your choice)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch pan.
  • Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add melted butter and vanilla; stir until crumbly.
  • Press two-thirds of mixture into pan; spread preserves over.
  • Top with remaining mixture; bake 30–35 mins until golden.
  • Cool completely; cut into 12 squares.

Store in an airtight container for best freshness.
