Instructions
Simmer apples with butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until softened.
Mix cornflour with cold water, then stir into apples until thickened. Cool.
Preheat oven to 180°C. Cut out pastry rounds and strips for lattice.
Fill pastry rounds with apple mixture, add lattice strips, seal edges, and brush with egg.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use a sharp knife to cut pastry for clean edges.
