Ingredients
  

Oil and Aromatics

  • 1 tablespoon fresh garlic (minced)

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Tomato Base

  • 26 ounces Pomi chopped tomatoes or two 15-ounce cans of diced tomatoes, undrained

Meat and Additional Spices

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (85/15)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro (finely chopped)

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add spices: salt, paprika, cumin, and cayenne; cook briefly to release flavors.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes to develop sauce.
  • Mix ground beef with onion powder, coriander, cinnamon, and chopped cilantro; form into meatballs.
  • Add meatballs to the sauce and cook for 15 minutes until cooked through.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with additional cilantro before serving.
