Ingredients
  

Base

  • 200 g unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 220 g plain flour good quality all-purpose flour
  • 100 g oats
  • 150 g sugar, granulated
  • 400 g fresh strawberries, sliced firm, bright red, no mushiness
  • 4 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste optional

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter gently and let it cool slightly.
  • Mix flour, oats, sugar, and salt until sandy.
  • Press two-thirds of the mixture into the baking dish.
  • Bake the base, then add macerated strawberries and remaining crumble.
  • Bake for 55 minutes, covering with foil if needed.
  • Cool completely before slicing for neat edges.

Notes

For clean cuts, use a hot, dry knife.
