  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar or honey
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2 ¼ tsp
  • 1.25 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

For the topping:

  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp dried garlic
  • 1 tsp dried onion
  • 0.5 tsp coarse salt

Instructions
 

  • Mix the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
  • Add warm water and vegetable oil; knead until smooth.
  • Divide dough into 8 pieces, shape into bagels, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Boil water, then boil bagels for 1 minute each side.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet, sprinkle with toppings, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes.
