Ingredients
  

Eggs

  • 3 whole eggs
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup water 4oz / 113g
  • 1 cup matzo meal 5oz / 142g
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 medium carrot peeled, small dice
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 hard boiled egg shelled
  • 1 pitted black olive
  • black and red gel food coloring optional food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Mix eggs, oil, water, and matzo meal; refrigerate for 45 minutes.
  • Simmer broth with carrots over medium-low heat.
  • Form matzo mixture into balls; cook in broth for 20 minutes.
  • Carve face details into the eggs; slice olives for eyes and assemble.
  • Serve soup with garnishes; optionally color the eyes for effect.

Notes

Use food coloring sparingly to create spooky effects on the face.
