Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp water optional, for thinning
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2-3 green onions chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until fully coated.
  • Add chicken in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  • Stir in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Add water if needed to adjust consistency.
  • Add the cooked chicken back to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, reduce the amount of water or simmer for a few extra minutes. Adjust the amount of sesame oil to your taste for a stronger or milder flavor.
