  • 1.5 cups white rice I always use Nishiki medium grain for the best stickiness

Tuna

  • 5 oz tuna drained of all liquid for a better texture

Mayonnaise

  • 2.5 tbsp mayonnaise prefer Kewpie for authentic Japanese creaminess

Sriracha

  • 2.5 tsp sriracha

Rice Vinegar

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

Sesame Oil

  • 1 tsp sesame oil gives it a distinct toasty aroma

Soy Sauce

  • 0.75 tsp soy sauce

Honey

  • 0.5 tsp honey

Black Sesame Seeds

  • black sesame seeds

Furikake

  • furikake

Cucumber

  • cucumber sliced into 1/8-inch rounds for a crisp bite

Nori

  • nori

Green Onions

  • green onions thinly sliced on a bias

Instructions
 

  • Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly.
  • Mix tuna with mayonnaise, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and honey until well combined.
  • Assemble bowls by placing rice at the base, topped with spicy tuna, cucumber slices, nori, green onions, sesame seeds, and furikake.
  • Garnish with additional sesame seeds and furikake if desired, then serve.
