Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Thinly slice the potatoes to ¼-inch thickness.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
Add ground beef, season, and cook until browned.
Layer half of the potatoes, beef, and cheese in a greased baking dish, then pour broth (and milk, if using) over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes, then uncover, top with Parmesan, and bake for 10 more minutes.
Notes
Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving and garnish with fresh parsley.
