Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour can substitute gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup butter cold for flakiness
  • 2 tbsp sugar you can use less for a less sweet base

Custard Filling

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract opt for high-quality
  • 1 tbsp fresh ground cardamom

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the tart crust by mixing flour, cold butter, and sugar until crumbly. Press into a tart pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, heat milk and half the sugar until warm. In a bowl, whisk eggs, remaining sugar, vanilla, and ground cardamom. Slowly pour warm milk into the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  • Pour the custard filling into the pre-baked tart shell. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes until set.
  • Allow to cool before serving. Garnish with additional ground cardamom if desired.

Notes

Use high-quality vanilla extract for the best flavor. Chill the tart before serving for a more refreshing taste.
