Prepare the tart crust by mixing flour, cold butter, and sugar until crumbly. Press into a tart pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes.
In a saucepan, heat milk and half the sugar until warm. In a bowl, whisk eggs, remaining sugar, vanilla, and ground cardamom. Slowly pour warm milk into the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
Pour the custard filling into the pre-baked tart shell. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes until set.
Allow to cool before serving. Garnish with additional ground cardamom if desired.
