Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine bread and raisins in a large bowl.
Heat milk and butter until melted; pour over bread mixture and soak for 10 minutes.
Add sugar, beaten eggs, vanilla, and nutmeg; stir to combine.
Pour into a greased 1.5-quart casserole dish and bake for 40–50 minutes until golden and set.
For caramel sauce, melt butter and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened, about 5–8 minutes.
Notes
Serve warm with caramel sauce drizzled on top for extra indulgence.
