Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 Tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrot optional
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper or baby spinach optional
  • 2 pie crusts pie crusts defrosted but unbaked
  • 1/3 cup shredded Mexican cheese
  • 1 egg egg for brushing

Salsa

Instructions
 

  • Cook the ground meat with taco seasoning and optional vegetables until browned, then set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line baking sheets with parchment.
  • Roll out pie crusts and cut out ghost shapes; fill half with meat mixture, then top with cut-out eyes/mouth shapes and seal edges.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg, then bake for 10-14 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve with salsa or dip.

Notes

Use small round cutters for eyes and mouth to create fun faces on the ghost pies.
