  • 1 head red cabbage shredded
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Add onion and apple; cook until tender, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Add shredded cabbage and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook until cabbage is tender, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
