  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 40 mini marshmallows mini marshmallows
  • 40 candy eyes candy eyes
  • ¼ cup melted white chocolate
  • green food coloring green food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugars, then add eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Combine with dry ingredients.
  • Scoop batter onto sheets, bake for 13-14 minutes, then cool.

Notes

Use green food coloring to tint the batter for a spooky effect.
