Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch pan.
Mix melted butter and sugar until smooth, then add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
Stir in cocoa powder, then fold in flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips if using, then pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool before slicing.
Notes
For extra fudginess, slightly underbake and let cool completely.
