Ingredients
  

Meat

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh or canned

Rice

  • 2 cups cooked rice preferably day-old
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry rice with garlic, salt, and pepper until fragrant, then crispy.
  • Preheat grill, remove steak from marinade, and grill 4-5 minutes per side. Rest and slice.
  • Grill pineapple chunks for 2-3 minutes until caramelized.
  • Assemble by placing rice on a plate, topping with sliced beef, grilled pineapple, and garnishes.

Notes

Use fresh pineapple for best flavor and consider marinating the beef overnight for more tenderness.
