Ingredients
  

Meat

  • 1.75 pounds cube steak 4 pieces
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 medium yellow onion sliced
  • 2 cups beef stock or beef broth
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms

Instructions
 

  • Optional: Let cube steaks sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  • Season steaks with garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper; dredge in flour, reserving 2 tbsp.
  • Cook steaks in hot oil 3-4 minutes per side; set aside. Melt butter, sauté onions with Worcestershire sauce 6 minutes.
  • Add reserved flour to onions, cook until light brown; gradually stir in beef broth, simmer until thickened.
  • Add mushrooms, cook 2 minutes; return steaks to skillet, cover with gravy, simmer 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta for a complete meal.
