  • 400 g beef steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 spring onions spring onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili red chili, finely chopped (optional) optional
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • To garnish Toasted sesame seeds
  • To garnish Fresh coriander

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the jasmine rice and cook according to package instructions, then keep warm.
  • Season sliced beef with salt and pepper, then coat with cornstarch.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, fry beef until crispy, then set aside.
  • Sauté garlic, chili, and bell pepper for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and tender.
  • Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili sauce, ketchup, sesame oil, and sugar; pour into pan and stir.
  • Return beef to pan, toss to coat, then serve over rice garnished with spring onions, sesame seeds, and coriander.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat the beef with cornstarch and fry in batches.
