  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1.75 cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 0.25 cup olive oil (plus more for greasing and drizzling)
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme optional, for garnish
  • Flaky sea salt optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • Proof the yeast in warm water and sugar for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Mix flour, salt, and olive oil into the yeast mixture to form a sticky dough. Let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
  • Prepare toppings: mince garlic, grate Parmesan, and chop herbs if using.
  • Transfer dough to an oiled pan, dimple with fingers, and sprinkle with garlic, Parmesan, and herbs.
  • Let dough rise for another 20-30 minutes, then bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
