Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine or linguine

Shrimp

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pasta water reserved

Seasonings

  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh herbs and garnish

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain.
  • Sauté shrimp in olive oil with seasonings until pink; set aside.
  • Melt butter, sauté garlic, then add heavy cream and Parmesan, stirring until smooth. Add reserved pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
  • Combine pasta and sauce, add shrimp, and stir to coat. Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or more Parmesan.
