Creamy Lemon Pasta

Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 8 oz fresh pasta
  • 2 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tbsp flour
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 lemon lemon zested and juiced (seeds removed)
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup freshly fine grated parmesan reggiano cheese

Garnish

  • to taste cracked black pepper (extra lemon zest, extra cheese)

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
  • In a skillet, cook black pepper in butter until fragrant, then whisk in flour and cook briefly.
  • Add broth and cream, simmer until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
  • Combine cooked pasta with lemon zest and juice, toss to coat, adding pasta water if needed.
  • Stir in parmesan, season with salt and pepper, garnish with extra lemon zest, cheese, and black pepper. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped parsley or basil as a garnish.
