  • 2 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts (sliced in half horizontally)
  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or penne)

Cooking Essentials

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing)

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
  • 1 lemon zest lemon zest
  • 1 cup heavy cream (room temperature)
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)

Additional

  • as needed reserved pasta water
  • for garnish fresh parsley (chopped)
  • for serving extra Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and reserve some pasta water.
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper, sear in olive oil until golden and cooked through, then set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter, sauté garlic, add lemon juice and chicken broth, simmer briefly.
  • Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan, add lemon zest, then combine with pasta and chicken, adjusting sauce with pasta water.
  • Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan, then serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
