Fruits

  • 8 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (about 6-7 large peaches)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for peaches)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for batter)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar mixed with ground cinnamon for sprinkling on top

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch; let sit for 10 minutes.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; stir in milk and melted butter until combined.
  • Pour batter into the dish, top with peach mixture without stirring, and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool for a few minutes and serve warm, ideally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
