Instructions
Melt butter in a large pot, cook onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and chicken until chicken browns and vegetables are translucent.
Sprinkle flour, stir, then gradually add chicken broth, simmer until thickened and chicken is cooked, about 20–25 minutes.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, melted butter, and milk to form a sticky dough.
Drop spoonfuls of dough into simmering soup, cover, and cook for 10–15 minutes until dumplings are puffed and cooked.
Adjust seasoning, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve hot with dumplings and chicken.
Notes
For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or bay leaves during cooking.
