Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions
 

  • Activate yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Mix flour, sugar, salt, and softened butter in a large bowl.
  • Add activated yeast mixture to dry ingredients and mix until dough forms.
  • Knead dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let rise 1 hour.
  • Roll dough into a rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture, and roll into a log.
  • Bake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For best flavor, use high-quality ground cinnamon and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place.
