Ingredients
  

Praline Mixture

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Cake

  • 1 box Devil's Food cake mix
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Whipped Cream

  • 3.5 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Garnish

  • to taste chocolate curls
  • 1/4 cup toasted pecans

Instructions
 

  • Cook butter, heavy cream, and brown sugar over low heat until melted; stir in pecans.
  • Pour praline mixture into a sprayed 13x9-inch pan.
  • Prepare cake batter with mix, milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla; pour over praline layer.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 28 minutes; flip cake onto sheet pan while warm and cool.
  • Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until peaks form; layer cake and whipped cream in a trifle dish.
  • Top with chocolate curls and toasted pecans before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, chill the assembled trifle before serving.
