Ingredients
  

Bread

  • 1 loaf brioche or white bread
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 eggs eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 orange orange zest and juice

Instructions
 

  • Butter a baking dish and cube the bread, then transfer to the dish.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over bread, then whisk eggs, cream, milk, bourbon, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt. Add orange zest and juice to the mixture.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread, pressing down to submerge. Let soak for at least one hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake uncovered for 45 minutes until golden and moist inside.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the pudding soak longer before baking.
