Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Chocolate Mousse

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Ganache

  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; fold until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes; cool completely.
  • Prepare mousse by melting chocolate with milk, then fold into whipped cream.
  • Spread mousse over cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Notes

For best results, let the brownies cool completely before adding the mousse.
