Chocolate Caramel Crumble Slice

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups plain flour sifted
  • 0.5 cup Dutch cocoa sifted
  • 0.5 cup desiccated coconut
  • 0.75 cup caster sugar
  • 200 g unsalted butter melted
  • 2 x 395g cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.5 cup golden syrup
  • 125 g unsalted butter chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix flour, cocoa, coconut, sugar, and melted butter until crumbly.
  • Press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 20x30cm tin. Bake for 20–25 minutes.
  • Simmer condensed milk, golden syrup, and butter until thickened, then pour over base.
  • Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture on top and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  • Cool slightly, then refrigerate until set. Cut into squares to serve.
