  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon (plus extra for rolling)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Beat butter with sugars until fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla.
  • Combine wet and dry mixtures until just mixed.
  • Scoop dough, roll in cinnamon-sugar, and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden; cool before transferring.

Notes

For extra flavor, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
