Ingredients
  

Bread

  • 1 loaf Pane Di Casa, Vienna, or Sourdough bread, unsliced
  • cup butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • cup pizza sauce
  • ¼ red onion finely chopped red onion
  • 1 large ripe tomato, finely chopped
  • 3.5 ounces mini beef pepperoni slices
  • to taste Fresh basil leaves, finely shredded
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs or Italian seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Cut slits across the top of the loaf, creating a grid pattern.
  • Mix melted butter with crushed garlic and Italian herbs.
  • Drizzle garlic butter into all slits of the bread.
  • Layer toppings: spread pizza sauce, add onions, tomato, pepperoni, and cheese.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Rest briefly, then sprinkle with basil before serving.

Notes

Ensure to cut deep enough to allow toppings to settle into the bread.
