Ingredients

Pantry

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add ground beef, cook until browned, breaking into pieces. Drain excess fat.
  • Season beef with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  • Add beef broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine, then add cooked pasta, tossing to coat evenly.
  • Stir in Parmesan until melted. Top with mozzarella, cover, and let sit until cheese melts. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese and high-quality ground beef.
