Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch dish.
Cook ground beef and onion until browned; drain excess fat.
Layer half of potatoes, beef mixture, and 1 cup cheese; repeat layers.
Mix soup, milk, and melted butter; pour over casserole.
Bake covered 35 mins, then uncovered 15 mins until bubbly; let stand 10 mins.
Notes
For a richer flavor, sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking.
