Instructions
Mix 3 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, egg, and salt in a bowl.
Warm milk and add to the mixture; knead for 2 minutes.
Add remaining flour, cheese, garlic, and chives; knead until soft and pulling from sides.
Let dough rise covered for 45 minutes, punch down, shape into 12 balls, and place in a baking dish.
Let rolls rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 375°F for 22-27 minutes until golden.
Brush with garlic butter, sprinkle with salt, and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add herbs or more cheese as desired.
