80gpasta (penne, fettuccine, spaghetti)
8-10shrimpshrimp, peeled and deveined
Pinchsalt and pepper for seasoning shrimp
¼tspCajun seasoning for shrimp
1tbspolive oil or cooking spray
¼tspsmoked paprika
¼tspCajun seasoning
¼tspcayenne pepper, adjust to taste
¼tspdried parsley
¼tspchilli flakes (optional)
¼tspsalt
⅓ to ½cuphalf and half cream
½cuppasta wateradd gradually for sauce
Instructions
Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Sear in oil for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and crispy. Remove and set aside.
Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
Sauté garlic and shallots in the same pan. Add bell pepper, paprika, Cajun seasoning, cayenne, parsley, chilli flakes, and salt. Pour in half and half cream and add pasta water gradually. Simmer until sauce thickens.
Return shrimp to the pan, add cooked pasta, and toss to coat. Simmer for 1-2 minutes. Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
Notes
Adjust cayenne and chili flakes to taste for spiciness.
