Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients
  

Protein

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 mini bell pepper or ½ regular bell pepper bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 80 g pasta (penne, fettuccine, spaghetti)
  • 8-10 shrimp shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Pinch salt and pepper for seasoning shrimp
  • ¼ tsp Cajun seasoning for shrimp
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp dried parsley
  • ¼ tsp chilli flakes (optional)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ to ½ cup half and half cream
  • ½ cup pasta water add gradually for sauce

Instructions
 

  • Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Sear in oil for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  • Sauté garlic and shallots in the same pan. Add bell pepper, paprika, Cajun seasoning, cayenne, parsley, chilli flakes, and salt. Pour in half and half cream and add pasta water gradually. Simmer until sauce thickens.
  • Return shrimp to the pan, add cooked pasta, and toss to coat. Simmer for 1-2 minutes. Adjust seasoning and serve hot.

Notes

Adjust cayenne and chili flakes to taste for spiciness.
