Ingredients
  

Pie Crust

  • 1 piece prepared pie crust (9-inch, baked and cooled)

Sweeteners

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

Thickening Agent

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Milk Mixture

  • 2.5 cups whole milk
  • 4 large egg yolks

Butter & Flavoring

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Toppings & Garnish

  • optional Whipped cream for topping
  • optional butterscotch chips or caramel sauce for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan.
  • Gradually add milk, cook until thickened and bubbling, about 5–7 minutes.
  • Temper egg yolks with hot mixture, then return to saucepan and cook 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  • Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla, then pour into crust. Chill for at least 4 hours.
  • Top with whipped cream and garnish with butterscotch chips or caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

Ensure the pie is fully chilled before serving for best texture.
