Instructions
Whisk together brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan.
Gradually add milk, cook until thickened and bubbling, about 5–7 minutes.
Temper egg yolks with hot mixture, then return to saucepan and cook 2–3 minutes until smooth.
Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla, then pour into crust. Chill for at least 4 hours.
Top with whipped cream and garnish with butterscotch chips or caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
Ensure the pie is fully chilled before serving for best texture.
