blackberries (fresh or frozen)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add vanilla, egg, and vinegar; combine.
Press half of dough into a 2-quart dish. Mix blackberries with sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and zest; spread over crust.
Top with remaining dough. Bake 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
Cool for 30 minutes. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.
Notes
Use fresh or frozen blackberries for best flavor.
